when you die

When you die

I walk through the cemetery and observe the engravings on the headstones. ‘Devoted father, son and brother’. ‘Beloved mother and grandma’. I notice that none of them say CEO, founder, seven-figure entrepreneur, industry leader, artist, expert or marketing guru. The only important message, it seems, is that the person who has passed away had human connections and meant a lot to those closest to them. When we go, that is all that matters. People and relationships. Not money, work, careers, creativity or achievements. People. Love. Connection. Family. Friends.
