Home alone

I’m home alone

for the night

and yet, I find myself

rushing through the motions:

quick hot shower step

out get ready –

no, go slow

stay under the

pelting hot shoots of

water that feel so

good smashing down on my

cold tired skin.

I’m home alone

and it’s raining

but I’ll leave my

washed hair wet

‘cause I hate drying it

and there’s no one here to see it.

I’ll go for coffee

and buy magnesium (for sleep)

and eat daal for dinner and

daal for lunch and

no one will complain, because

no one is here.
