Rich and I lay in bed the other night, reminiscing about 80s toys and fads. This post is for children of the 80s looking for a nostalgic trip down memory lane…
Stretch Armstrong (and his dog Fetch, of course)
Tamagotchi (remember how it felt when they died…!)
Lunchtime game of marbles on the drain?
Battery-operated dogs. They barked and walked and stood on their hind legs. Until I stuffed mine with ripped up paper (*food*) and it died. We took it back to the shop and the owner pulled a load of ripped up paper out of its stomach. My mum was not impressed.
Premiere League sticker books (even if you hated football)
Iced Gems (these are still going!)
Then Rich fell asleep and it started to get a bit girly…
Cabbage Patch dolls
Dummys. What a strange fad.
Rubbers (and those fluffy sticky things in the corner)
Shag bands (and snog rings)
Twinkle (for me and Bunty for my older sister)
